Frequently Asked Questions

Junior Suite Superior FAQs

What does the Junior Suite Superior at Bahia Principe Grand Coba look out on?
The suite has a garden view and a private balcony, so you get a calm, green outlook rather than a pool or ocean panorama. It suits guests who want a quiet spot to sit with a morning coffee, made with the in-room coffee/tea maker.
How are the beds arranged and how many people does the room sleep?
The suite sleeps up to 4 guests. The bedroom has 1 king bed or 2 double beds, and the living area adds a double-size sofa bed. Because the bedroom is separate from the living area, it works well for a family or two couples who don't mind sharing the suite.
How big is the Junior Suite Superior, and how is it laid out?
The suite measures 441 sq. ft. with one bedroom and a separate living area. The bedroom has blackout drapes, air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The living area has the sofa bed and a desk, with a wardrobe, iron and ironing board and an in-room safe for your belongings.
What is the bathroom like?
The private bathroom has a jetted bathtub and a rainfall showerhead in a shower/bathtub combination. It comes with towels, soap, shampoo, free toiletries and a hair dryer. Pack your own toothbrush and toothpaste, as these are not supplied.
What is included with this room at Bahia Principe Grand Coba?
Your stay is all-inclusive: buffet and à la carte meals, snacks, all beverages (including the in-room minibar) and use of onsite activities and equipment. You also receive three à la carte dinner reservations per week of stay. The gym is included in the rate. Spa treatments cost extra, as does the round-trip airport shuttle.
Is this suite a good choice for families?
Yes. The sofa bed, connecting rooms and a free crib make it practical for families. The resort runs the Bahia Scouts kids' club (ages 4–12) and a Teen's Club (ages 13–17). The balcony is a private outdoor space, so if you are travelling with very young children, think about how you will supervise them there.
How far is the room from the beach, and what should I know about it?
The beach is not right beside the rooms. Guests mention about a 7-minute walk from the main lobby, and a shuttle runs to Coba Beach. Some reviewers describe the shoreline as fairly small and a little rocky when the waves are bigger. The resort also has several outdoor pools, including a main pool with a swim-up bar, and two Jacuzzi pools.
Do I need to reserve the à la carte restaurants, and is there a dress code?
Yes. The à la carte restaurants, such as Portofino (Italian), Mediterraneo, Mikado (Asian), Le Gourmet and Cozumel (Mexican), require reservations. They have a semi-formal dress code, with long pants and sleeved shirts for men, and dinner service generally runs from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Your three à la carte reservations per week are included. The Kukulcan buffet needs no reservation, though footwear and a cover-up or shirt are required.
What are check-in details and how do I get to the resort?
Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is at noon. The minimum check-in age is 18, and you will need a photo ID and credit card. The resort is on the Chetumal–Cancún highway in Akumal. Tulum International Airport is roughly an hour's drive away, and Cancún International is about 1 hour 30 minutes. A round-trip shuttle is available from the resort for a surcharge.
